How does AI improve occupational safety on site?
Video from the security cameras already on site is evaluated against safety rules on an on-site Algi Edge device or on ALGI AI servers. On the dashboard an inspection zone is drawn for each camera and the rules that apply there are selected: PPE requirements such as helmets and high-visibility vests, unauthorized entry into hazardous zones, forklift-pedestrian distance, flame and smoke. When a rule is broken, an event is logged with zone, time and a snapshot, and the alert reaches the responsible person within seconds by mobile notification, email, or siren and beacon output. The system does not recognize or identify workers; it is the rule that is checked, not the person.

Frequently asked questions
- Which safety rules can be checked?
- PPE rules such as helmet, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, mask and gloves; entry into hazardous or restricted zones; forklift-pedestrian proximity and forklift speed; falls; fire and smoke; blocked emergency exits. Each zone gets its own rule set and shift hours.
- Does it work with existing IP cameras?
- Yes. Standard IP cameras with an RTSP stream are used; no smart helmets, RFID tags or wearables are needed. What matters is how clearly the camera sees the person: the head must be distinguishable for helmet checks and the torso for vest checks. Your camera list is reviewed before installation.
- Does the system keep working if the internet goes down?
- With an on-site Algi Edge device, yes: evaluation runs in the facility and continues during an outage; the connection carries events to the dashboard and remote notification channels. With processing on ALGI AI servers, evaluation depends on the connection.
- How are false alarms handled?
- The first days after installation run in observation mode: events are logged but no site alarm fires. Thresholds are tuned in this period and misleading areas such as welding stations or steam lines are masked. Alarms are switched on once tuning settles; recurring false-alarm sources show up in reports and masks are updated.
- What is the difference between occupational safety and Algi Safe?
- Both sit in the Safety Intelligence line. The occupational-safety rule set covers PPE, hazardous-zone, fall and fire rules. Algi Safe is for premises security: access, after-hours movement and restricted-zone violations are logged.
