What it needs and how it works
Capture Rate ships as a ready-made rule and is configured for your site. The rule measures passage rate or flow across a defined line or area. Passages per unit time or flow direction become an event per the condition. Measurement is anonymous and runs in real time on the on-site Edge device.

This rule is part of the Retail Intelligence rule set and runs on the IP cameras you already own.
How false alarms are reduced
Sudden direction changes and overlap in dense scenes affect flow measurement. Counting-line position, a direction filter and calibration preserve accuracy.
Alert and action
The data produced is anonymous and lands in the store-operations dashboard; no person is identified and raw video stays on site — GDPR-compliant by design.
