Algi NVR collects camera streams from the field, records them and opens dozens of cameras on one screen as a wall. You download it, connect it to your existing cameras and run it on your own server. When you need analytics, the Algi Edge layer sits on top of the same installation.
WHAT IT DOES
The recording and viewing layer
Algi NVR is a recording and viewing infrastructure. It collects the streams from your IP cameras on a single server, records them according to your retention rule and gives the operator a live wall. Adding cameras, user permissions, storage tracking and recording search all live in the same application. The installation runs on your hardware; streams do not have to leave the site.
What it is not
It is not an analytics engine. Rule authoring, event detection and alerting belong to the Algi Edge layer; Algi NVR carries the recording and viewing side.
It is not a camera or hardware sale. It works with your existing IP cameras.
It is not a people-centred application. On screen and in the recording the subject is the camera; no identity matching, recognition or profiling is performed.
HOW IT WORKS
Running in four steps
Connect the cameras
Cameras on the network are discovered and added. Sites, buildings and floors are foldered; each camera lands in the group it belongs to.
Write the retention rule
You decide which camera is kept and for how long. Continuous recording, scheduled recording and event-triggered recording can run side by side in the same installation.
Open the wall
On the operator screen you open dozens of cameras in a single layout. Layouts are saved; when the shift changes the same view comes back.

Thousands of cameras, one installation
It starts with a single building and grows to city scale with the same installation. Sites run independently and are managed from one console; when one site loses connectivity the others keep recording. Adding a new camera does not change the architecture, it adds a row to the list.
PRIVACY POSTURE
Raw video stays on site
Algi NVR runs on your own server and the recordings stay there. There is no mandatory transfer to a cloud; it can run air-gapped. When the analytics layer is added the rule still holds: raw video is processed locally, and only events and summary data leave the site.

ANALYTICS LAYER
When you want to move from recording to decision
Algi NVR records and displays the stream; the layer that decides what is inside the stream is Algi Edge. Rules you pick from the rule library are applied to the same cameras, and a triggered event becomes a dashboard entry and a notification. The two layers run side by side in the same installation, with no second camera infrastructure.

Questions asked before installation
How many cameras can Algi NVR manage?
The installation is designed for networks with thousands of cameras. How many cameras a single server carries is determined together with resolution, frame rate and retention period. Before installation the hardware is sized against your camera count and retention needs.
How many cameras can be opened on one screen?
Dozens of cameras can be opened in a single layout on the operator screen; layouts are saved and can be spread across several monitors. The practical limit is set not by the application but by monitor resolution and how many views an operator can follow at once.
Will my existing IP cameras work with this system?
Algi NVR is installed to work with your existing IP cameras and does not require replacing them. Before installation the camera models and stream settings on your network are reviewed.
Do recordings have to go to the cloud?
No. Recordings stay on your server and the installation can run on an air-gapped network. Data leaves the site only if you define an integration.
Does it include analytics features?
Algi NVR is the recording and viewing layer. Rule-based detection, alerting and reporting belong to the Algi Edge layer and are added on top of the same cameras; no second installation is needed.
Can we track who opened which recording?
Yes. User permissions are defined per camera and per site; opening a camera and exporting a recording are written to the audit trail with a timestamp.
